Microsoft Research in Beijing have developed software that can process handwritten text (in English
only, at this point), and clean it up, making it neater and easier to read.
Although still a research project and not yet available as a consumer application, the results of this research have
some pretty exciting possibilities in the Tablet PC world, and even raise the thought that you could eventually scan
that hastily written doctor's prescription and actually be able to read what it says. I'd do that every time to make
sure the pharmacist actually understands it!
