Podcasting is hot. Everyone is into it. I wonder how long it will be until Microsoft comes up with tools
to let PC users join in. Microsoft is trying to shed it’s slow-as-molasses big company image with advertising
campaigns. It’s not working. Now Apple has introduced Photocasting, and where is Microsoft on that? Vodcasts,
podcasts, and photocasts are now swirling around the globe and Microsoft doesn’t seem to notice. I don’t
understand how they can still be in the game if they don’t pay attention to trends.
This is precisely why I want to get my hands on a dual-bootable PC that will run Vista and Mac OS X. I can use
Vista for all my regular real-world tasks, and the mac for all the fun new stuff Microsoft ignores. There is obviously
the best of both worlds to be had. It just mystifies me that Microsoft has been virtually silent on these show-stopping
trends. Is Microsoft with it in your opinion?

1. While Microsoft can be slow to respond with some cutting edge technologies/ideas, perhaps it comes down to business value?
You said yourself "I will use Vista for all my real world tasks" and "OSX for the fun stuff". To me that translates *somewhat to the fact that perhaps podcasting is not (yet) at the point where it has business value?
Microsoft has embraced blogging in a huge way, much more so that anyone else I can think of and I think it has alot to do with the fact that they can really communicate with their customers using blogs.
Podcasts etc may be best left to community websites, or promotional type sites like channel 9.
I agree with you 100% on the fact that there should be a cool middle of the road but at the same time look at the huge buy-in from Microsoft on things like Ajax/Web 2.0 with things like www.live.com.
Just some possible opinions, certainly not written in stone. :)
